This is a translation provided for convenience. The French version is the legally binding one.
In short: Astrelyne only collects what is needed to run the game and your account. No advertising, no selling or sharing of your data, no third-party trackers: just an internal, anonymous, cookie-free audience measurement. Your data stays in France, with our hosting provider. You can delete your account at any time from the game.

Data controller
The data controller is the publisher of the astrelyne.com website, a private individual (see the legal notice). For any question about your data: contact@astrelyne.com.
Data collected and why
If you play without an account (guest)
- Your game (heroes, progress, resources, planet) and the date of your last action, stored on the server
and linked to your browser by a cookie.
Purpose: to run the game. Legal basis: performance of the terms of use. - Your battles: their line-up, their random seed, your actions during the battle (ultimates triggered, auto mode) and their result.
Purpose: to check the battle result, prevent cheating, and let you watch your last 20 battles again (replays). Legal basis: performance of the terms of use. - Your preferences (sound on or off, last galaxy displayed, visibility in the Players' Galaxy), so you find them on all your devices.
If you create an account
- Your email address: sign-in identifier and sending of the emails needed for the account (address confirmation). No newsletter or advertising is ever sent to you.
- Your nickname: displayed in the game.
- Your password: never stored in plain text, only as an encrypted fingerprint (hash) from which it cannot be recovered.
- The dates of sign-up, address confirmation and last sign-in: account management and deletion of inactive accounts.
- Your game, attached to your account so you can find it on all your devices.
Legal basis: performance of the terms of use (creation and management of your account).
For everyone
- Your IP address, with the date, when you attempt to sign in, sign up, request an email, send a contact message or create a guest game.
Purpose: to limit abuse (password guessing in bursts, mass account creation). Legal basis: legitimate interest in protecting the service. - The technical logs of the hosting provider (IP address, page requested, date), kept by OVH for the security and proper running of its servers, and to meet its legal obligations.
Astrelyne uses no advertising, no external analytics tool (such as Google Analytics), no social network, no external font or service: all the site's resources (including fonts) are hosted on our servers, and nothing is sent to Google or other third parties.
What other players and the public see
If you have a confirmed account, you appear in the game's Players' Galaxy and on public pages of the website (astrelyne.com/en/players, a page in your name and a page per filmed battle), which anyone can view, even without an account, and which can be found by search engines such as Google: your nickname, the name, buildings and a photo of your planet (taken by the game when you change something on it), your team (heroes, levels, stars), your progress (power, stars, galaxy reached, arena streak), an indication of activity (for example "active this week") and your last 20 battles, which others can watch again.
For this, as long as you are visible in the galaxy, the game films your battles (the battle screen, the game's sound, a banner with your nickname) and sends the video to the server at the end of each battle. Nothing else is filmed: not your screen outside the game, not your camera, not your microphone. The videos are deleted along with the corresponding battle (beyond the last 20, or if you delete it), and with your account.
Your email address is never shown, nor are your resources (gold, gems, orbalite). Guest games (without an account) do not appear.
You can remove yourself from the Players' Galaxy at any time: click your avatar, then untick "Appear in the Players' Galaxy". Your public pages and videos then immediately become unavailable ("page not found" error). Search engines then remove these pages from their results the next time they visit, which can take a few days or weeks; Google also offers an outdated content removal tool. Legal basis: performance of the terms of use (community feature of the game), with this right to object.
Contact form
If you use the contact form, your name or nickname (optional), your email address, the subject and your message
are sent by email to the publisher, along with your account's nickname if you are signed in. They are not stored in the game's database.
Purpose: to answer your request. Legal basis: legitimate interest in handling players' requests, or performance of the terms of use.
Audience measurement
To know how many people visit the site and play, and what interests them, Astrelyne counts by itself, without cookies or any external service, the pages you view and the game screens you open: the page, the time, the time spent (the page sends a sign of life every 30 seconds while it is displayed), the site you came from (its name only, for example google.com), the type of device (computer, tablet, mobile), the browser and the operating system, and whether you are signed in to an account (yes or no).
To group the pages of a single visit, the server computes an anonymous fingerprint from your IP address, your browser and a number drawn at random every day and then erased: neither your IP address nor your full browser details are stored, this fingerprint is not linked to your account or your game, and it changes every day, which makes it impossible to follow you from one day to the next. Search engine robots are not counted.
This data is only used to produce anonymous statistics (number of visits per day, average duration, most viewed pages…) consulted by the publisher;
it is neither combined with other data nor passed on to anyone. This measurement meets the conditions of the CNIL (the French data protection authority) for exemption from consent.
Legal basis: legitimate interest in measuring the site's audience in order to improve it. You can object by writing to
contact@astrelyne.com, or by blocking the address /api/track.php in your browser (content blocker): the game works normally.
Retention periods
| Data | Period |
|---|---|
| Account whose address was never confirmed | deleted after 7 days |
| Account and its game | until you delete it, or deleted automatically after 3 years without sign-in or game played |
| Guest game (without an account) | deleted after 1 year without a visit |
| Finished battles (replays) and their videos | the last 20 of your game; older ones are erased as you go, and you can delete some from the Replays screen |
| Battles started but never finished | 7 days |
| IP address of attempts (sign-in, sign-up, email, guest game, contact form) | 24 hours |
| Contact form messages | in the publisher's mailbox, while the request is being handled, then at most 3 years |
| Audience measurement (anonymous visits and page views) | 13 months; the random number used to compute the day's fingerprint is erased every day |
| Backup copies of the database | 14 days (one copy per day, to be able to restore the game after an outage) |
| Technical logs of the hosting provider | according to OVH's policy |
When you delete your account from the game, your account and your game are immediately erased from the database. They also disappear from the backup copies no later than 14 days afterwards, when those copies are replaced; they are only used to restore the game after an outage.
Cookies and browser storage
Astrelyne only uses cookies that are strictly necessary for the game to work (the audience measurement uses none). They are exempt from consent (article 82 of the French Data Protection Act): that is why no banner asks you for it.
| Name | Role | Duration |
|---|---|---|
astrelyne_sid | session: keeps you signed in and your current game | 30 days |
astrelyne_guest | links this browser to your guest game | 1 year |
astrelyne_lang | chosen language (French, English or Spanish), so the server answers you in that language | 1 year |
The game also keeps a copy of your preferences in your browser (sound, galaxy displayed, language), to apply them as soon as it loads. Replay videos are only created if you click "⬇ Video": they are then downloaded to your device, and never sent to the server.
Who has access to your data
- The publisher of the site, to manage the game (they can view the list of accounts and the progress of games).
- Other players and the public (including search engines), only for the information in the Players' Galaxy and your public pages, if you have an account and have not removed yourself.
- OVH SAS, our hosting provider, which stores the data and delivers the emails, as a processor, in its data centres located in France.
Your data is neither sold, rented nor shared for commercial purposes, and is not transferred outside the European Union. It may be disclosed to the authorities only upon a lawful request.
Security
- All exchanges with the site are encrypted (HTTPS).
- Passwords and confirmation links are stored as encrypted fingerprints.
- The database cannot be accessed from the web; repeated sign-in attempts are limited.
Minors
Creating an account is reserved for people aged 15 or over. Under 15, it requires the consent of a parent or legal guardian (article 45 of the French Data Protection Act). A parent can request the deletion of their child's account by writing to contact@astrelyne.com.
Your rights
In accordance with the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have the following rights over your data:
- access: to know what data concerns you and obtain a copy;
- rectification: to correct inaccurate data;
- erasure: to delete your account, directly from the game (click your avatar, then "Delete my account"), or on request;
- portability: to receive your game and your account data in a machine-readable format;
- restriction of and objection to processing based on legitimate interest;
- instructions on what happens to your data after your death.
To exercise these rights, use the contact form (subject "My personal data") or write to contact@astrelyne.com, from your account's address. You will receive an answer within one month.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL: www.cnil.fr/fr/plaintes.
Changes
This policy may change, for example if new features are added to the game. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page. In the event of a major change, you will be informed in the game.
